Q: If I want to ensure my camper is registered for Days Camps and Overnight but I would like to apply for financial assistance, how should I proceed? A: Please do not complete a regular registration form. Instead, complete the form provided on the Financial Aid tab of this website (see above). With the completion of this form, you will receive an e-mail reply from the Camp Director within 1-2 business days regarding your eligibility for funds and you will receive a modified registration form in that e-mail. Q: What is the structure of a day of Day Camp?        A: Each day begins with a gathering time in the morning at 9:15, Bible Adventure — a time for singing and learning about God and his desire for relationship with each of us. Next is activities followed by lunch, a wide game and other activities which campers select that day. Campers depart at 3:45. The greatest difference in the weekly activities day-to-day is on Thursday when everyone at Knox Camps leaves site for a Trip Day (more on Trip Days below)

Q: What & where is Fraser Lake Camp (Overnight Camp location)? A: Knox Camps has partnered with Fraser Lake for the past 3 summers (since 2013), and is a Christian overnight camp that runs all summer until the week before Knox Camp arrives. Fraser Lake is approximately 3 hours away, just north of Bancroft, which is north of Peterborough.  Here is the address of Fraser Lake Camp (for a potential Google search): 156 Whytes Road, Bancroft, ON K0L 1C0.

Q: What is the structure of a day of Overnight Camp? A: The days are full at Overnight Camp! The day begins with an optional Polar Bear dip or shower, breakfast, and then the day really gets going with Worship+Bible Study/Story, Section Talks, Instructional, and then its lunch. The second half of each day may include (but are not limited to) Choice Activity, Section Time, Wide Games, Skits, Dinner, Campfire, Talent Show… and much much more! 

Q: What activities are available at Knox Camps? A: For Day Camp — campers sign up for Activities on the first day of camp. Activities offered at Day Camp are: CRAFTS, SPORTS+GAMES, MUSIC, DRAMA. Overnight has more activity options, including: Rock Wall Climbing, Archery, Biking, Recreational Swimming, Choir, and the same activities as Day Camp.

Q: What is Bible Discovery & what is its structure in daily programming? A: Bible Discovery is a time each day in which campers and staff have a chance to slow down, sing, listen to a story from the Bible & have small group age-specific activity times that help campers apply the story they heard.

Q: What are examples of Trip Day excursion destinations during Day Camp? A: In the last few summers, Knox Camps has enjoyed various Trip Day activities, including the following destinations: Black Creek Pioneer Village, Ripley’s Aquarium, Toronto Zoo, Royal Ontario Museum, and Treetop Trekking (Jr High, 2016)… to name a few!

Q: Are there any limitations of what my campers can pack in their lunches? A: Yes — Knox Camps has a nut-free policy meaning that peanuts and other nuts are not allowed to be packed in campers’ lunches. Thank you for your understanding!

Q: Who should I speak to if I have concerns or feedback during a week of Day Camp? A: On the first day of camp, you will meet the Kids Coordinator and/or Youth Coordinator, and they will be present at Drop-Off and Pick-Up daily to greet you & your campers. Please feel free to communicate with them about any feedback or concerns you have. They will address your concern promptly & will bring it to the attention of the Camp Director as required. 

Q: Who should I speak to if I have concerns or feedback during Overnight Camp? A: Natasha Chandler, Overnight Camp Director, is a good person to pass along concerns and feedback to during or after Overnight Camp. 

Q: What specific things should my camper pack for Trip Days? A: There is a weekly e-mail sent out with the items required by your camper for each separate Trip Day. But generally, campers will need to be wearing running shoes (or shoes that are comfortable for walking), a water bottle, a lunch, a hat and sunscreen.

Q: Do campers have a specific leader throughout the week at Day Camps? A: Yes. Campers will have the same “Squad” leader for Small Groups and Team Games throughout the week.
